Dr. Christy Jew is a therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist who practices in Magnolia, Texas. Dr. Jew was born and raised in Houston, Texas and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a Master of Science Degree in Applied Mathematics. She went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry. While in optometry school, Dr. Jew served as a teaching assistant and received several letters of excellence for her clinical performance. She completed her externships in the greater Houston area, and was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society.
Dr. Jew has experience in diagnosing and managing a large variety of eye conditions such as dry eye, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. She also co-manages cataract surgery, LASIK, and PRK. Dr. Jew enjoys volunteering at non-profit eye clinics in the Houston area and has worked as an adjunct clinical professor at the University of Houston College of Optometry.
In 2010, Dr. Jew was able to pursue her dream of opening her own private optometry practice, Texas State Optical Magnolia. She is passionate about getting to know the patients in her practice and being active in the Magnolia community.
