Our Team

Dr. Christy Jew has experience in diagnosing and managing a large variety of eye conditions such as dry eye, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. She also co-manages cataract surgery, LASIK, and PRK. Dr. Jew is also very passionate about myopia management. She is certified in fitting orthokeratology lenses, MiSight lenses, and has extensive experience and knowledge in myopia management.

Dr. Jew enjoys volunteering at non-profit eye clinics in the Houston area and has worked as an adjunct clinical professor at the University of Houston College of Optometry.

In 2010, Dr. Jew was able to pursue her dream of opening her own private optometry practice, Texas State Optical Magnolia. She is passionate about getting to know the patients in her practice and being active in the Magnolia community. While not working at the office, Dr. Jew enjoys working on various craft projects, volunteering with and fostering dogs for CAMO Rescue in Magnolia, as well as spending time with her own adopted four-legged children!

Karina is a dedicated team member at TSO Magnolia with a passion for helping patients see clearly and feel confident. Having grown up in Houston, Texas, she brings a strong sense of community and connection to her work, creating a welcoming environment where every patient feels comfortable, heard, and well cared for. As a proud Latina and mother, Karina brings compassion, attentiveness, and a positive approachable energy to every interaction. She values building meaningful connections and providing personalized care tailored to each patient’s needs. Her warmth, professionalism, and commitment to excellent service make her a trusted part of the TSO Magnolia team.

Kayla is originally from Greenbrier, Arkansas. She relocated to Texas to pursue new opportunities and a change of environment. She began her professional journey as a preschool teacher, where she developed strong communication and interpersonal skills. Over time, she discovered a desire to explore a different career path. Having worn glasses since sixth grade, she developed a personal appreciation for vision care, which naturally evolved into a professional passion. Since transitioning into this field, she has found great fulfillment in helping others improve their quality of life through better vision.
